Hollow Formed Metal Objects
The Hollow-formed objects are a departure both in concept and scale. They are ideated from a notion that objects that were once functional could evolve into a non-utilitarian state. They playfully arrived in my mind 30 or so years ago during my very first Sabbatical where I longed to get away from the political vent my work endorses to dealing with one related solely to non-objective volumes. Since that first grouping I often strayed back to this mindset whenever time would allow. And mostly it is allowed during my ensuing Sabbaticals with this my final one no different.
The average 3-4’ tall and 1-2’ wide and are fabricated from flat sheet metal in copper and red brass. The objects share the title: Cartoon Music Series. Vestige Vessel 1, Vestige Vessel 2, etc…
